Favorite Albums of 2013

#10. LAKE - The World Is Real

Great production with a nostalgic throw-back chill out feel.

#9. Kennedy Cult - (monthly E.P.s)

Kennedy Cult released 12 EPs, one every month, and all of them are very 80's radical.
Check them ALL out HERE

#8. Lorde - Pure Heroine

One of the 2 "popular" albums on my list. I was reluctant to give this a chance until I stumbled on a live performance of Lorde and was impressed with her 90's "girl power" persona. Though the radio has murdered "Royals", I feel the rest of the album is quite refreshing.

#7. The Song Poem Project Vol. 1

Compiled of a load of talented, unique, under the radar musicians. The Song Poem Project was created to resemble and pay tribute to the honesty of original Song Poems.
Check it out HERE

#6. Rotten Musicians - Rotten Zoo

Bizarre Hip-Hop thrift store madness. More talent than any other "Rap" album that came out this year.
Eat it up HERE

#5. Janelle Monae - The Electric Lady

The shining example of how all female pop artists should be. This album is astonishing, especially being "popular music". From spaghetti western to bouncy dance pop to R&B sweetness and the spirit of young Michael Jackson is all over this thing.

#4. La Femme - Psycho Tropical Berlin

Retro french magic ear candy!
Check out this music video/short film compiled of 3 songs from the album HERE

#3. Lebanon Hanover - Tomb For Two

Oh the power of sad beautiful cold wave. Lebanon Hanover is in fact my favorite band right now and there was no disappointment with this icy gem.
Get on this HERE

#2. Rosie June - Listening Post

Whispery dreamy female love pop. So much love.
Fall in love HERE

#1. Camera Obscura - Desire Lines

Getting the opportunity to see Camera Obscura Live this year really nailed this album to my #1 spot. Probably the best album they've ever put out. So much juicy pop bits and Tracyanne Campbells voice melts my heart into a sloppy puddle of sweet sugary goo.
